2. state the function of menu bar and tools bar
3. create a blank presentation

1. The teacher shows a video
2. The teacher asks the students "Do you like the video shown just now?"
3. The teacher asks the students some questions:
a) What do you think about this presentation?
b) What is the media used in this presentation?
c) Can you create presentation like this?
4. The teacher says to the students that they will learn how to create a
presentation today.
Contents:
Step 1: Start Microsoft PowerPoint
a. Click button Start > All Programs > MS PowerPoint.

Step 2: Create a blank presentation.
a. Click Blank Presentation at the Task Pane at the right of the screen.

Step 3: Save the presentation.
a. Click menu File > Save.
b. Save your presentation as COMPUTER CATEGORIES 1
Step 4: Apply slide layout.
a. Click Format > Slide Layout.
b. Click on the Blank layout from the Task Pane.

Step 5: Apply slide design.
a. Click Format > Slide Design.
b. Click on the Edge design from the Task Pane.
c. You can choose any other design if you like.


Step 6: Insert WordArt.
a. Click at the WordArt button on the Drawing Toolbar to insert Word Art
b. The Word Art Gallery dialog box will be displayed. Choose any style that you
like.
c. Click OK.

d. The Edit WordArt Text dialog box will be displayed.
e. Type Computer Categories.
f. Click OK.

Step 7: Insert AutoShape.
a. Click Auto Shape button on the Drawing Toolbar.
b. Select Basic Shape. Choose Rounded Rectangle.

c. Draw the shape as shown

d. To change the color of the shape, click Fill Color button on the Drawing
Toolbar.
e. Click More Fill Colors button.

f. The Colors dialog box will be displayed. Click any color that you like.
g. Click OK.

h. Click Shadow button on the Drawing Toolbar.
i. Click Shadow Style 5 or any shadow style that you like.

j. Select the shape and click Copy button on the Standard Toolbar.
k. Click Paste button 3 times.
l. Save your presentation.
m. Click Save button on the Standard Toolbar.
Step 8: Adding text within the shape.
a. Click Text Box button on the Drawing Toolbar
b. Draw the text box on top of the shape
c. Type the text Input Devices within the text box 1,Processor within text box 2,
Storage within text box 3 and Output Devices within text box 4.
d. Format the text.
Step 9: Insert connectors using Auto Shape
a. Click Auto Shape button on the Drawing Toolbar
b. Select Connectors. Click Elbow Arrow Connector.

c. Draw the arrow as shown.

d. On the toolbar, click slide show and select view show.

Step 10: Save your presentation as Computer Hardware in My Document

Task
---------
Students will apply what they have learned to create a short five slide presentation. The subject area they will cover is "My Family". They must choose a presentation package of five slides that includes WordArt, Autoshape and text box. Students will create the task given in the next class. At the end students will present their finished product to the class for evaluation.
